IT Consulting: Steps to a Successful Launch
Before starting your IT consulting business, be prepared. In this article, learn some of the steps you should take before beginning the business of consulting.
Step Ten: Start a simple database of contact everyone you meet.
Use a package like ACT Goldmine - do not reinvent the wheel. Begin to contact each person and let them know that you are opening your business and IT consulting appreciate them keep their ears open for any referrals. Or, I tell them, if there is any actress or cry on your computer, you want to know about it.
Use a combination of personal and professional visits
In person visits are the most powerful, then phone calls, then e-mail and postcards. Be sure to give each person two cards of your IT consulting business with your cell phone number on it. Also, give them some stickers technical support so you can put one on your computer and give to others.
Step Eleven. What is Bill and How To Load
Think of your billing rate per hour and be very careful not to charge less. Think if you want to evaluate a travel charge or trip charge a flat fee or call fee on top of the hourly billing rate. Even your hours on-site minimum, 2-3 is generally the standard. You are going to go a lot of different places in a given day to earn a living. Then, plan efficiently.
Think about how you're going to bill for telephone support and remote support. Do not give away for free. Understanding how you are going to pay for an off-site project.
Step Twelve: Get Your First Paying Customer
You are an awesome job with the first client consulting. Go out of your way to achieving that goal. Get paid while the client is saying and that you have done a great job, get a testimonial. You are going to need a lot of people over time.
