Managing employee personal problems has become one of the tools, techniques and processes of modern human resource management. Problems can range from a marital conflict, grief, financial matters, etc. The resultant effect may be absenteeism, low productivity and other negative behaviors in the workplace.

The human resources team should adopt policies to promote respect and professionalism of employees.
