Codependents: A underserved populations
Codependent people are those that are linked to people with a compulsive disorder, such as: drugs, alcohol, work, sex, crime, pornography or illness or severe neurosis.
All these types of people who have a disorder, usually unconsciously force of those living near them to be victims and perpetrators. People are tied extremely responsible, as are codependents, people who are educated in their psychology caring for others is a necessity. It has its roots in childhood.
Codependents have learned to suppress their needs and have no eyes for the lives of others. They are very attentive to help, to contribute, to ensure the welfare of those they love. Codependents are able to stay with nothing and in order to maintain a relationship, which sometimes is more than complete.
The difference between the addict and the codependent, refers to a quality of consciousness, ie, while his partner, anesthesia and sometimes feelings do not recognize their problem, the codependent is always in their senses but worried all the time because improve their patient, or reconsider its position.
Of course, codependent people need as much help or maybe more, that people who have some type of compulsive behavior. And to achieve their goals of care, they resort to behaviors such as: control, hostility, excessive care, overprotection, be responsible for the other, on any subject: health, economy, friends.
They justify all acts addictive, but above all, they live far away from themselves. The emotional toll involved to help others and try to amend their lives leaves the codependent no energy to take care of themselves.
Both the co-dependent and addicted are dependent emotional and it is also true that certain factors establish this dynamic relationship. Both groups require professional intervention.
There are personalities who have to incur the substance abuse, although not exclusive to one character, others may present, among them are narcissistic personalities, obsessions, bipolar disorder, among others.
Surely if you identify with this article, perhaps, have codependent traits, and it is important to seek help from a professional. If you do not bother you, your health, your self-esteem and sense of your life may be in trouble.
