Buy or Sell your business in the new year - As the sales and marketing plan?
The sales and marketing plan is a document that most entrepreneurs do not have time to go around and put together. I do not know because that is just as important as the business plan and indeed complements.
The business plan outlines the strategic vision and direction of business and financial objectives of the business. The sales and marketing plan breaks down the business plan to show how it is coming and what to use to attract customers they need.
The sales and marketing plan can be as complex and as detailed as you want it. E 'can include a list of tactics you can deploy, can only list specific details and tactics that will be used or a combination of both. It 's important, however, that you understand how each idea is to be used, but you have some idea of the expected results of each tactic should bring to the business. There's an old adage in business: if you can not measure you can manage. There is also a famous quote that says "I am convinced that 50% of my marketing is effective, I just can not understand what 50%."
There is another proverb that says "I can not afford to advertise." If you can not afford to advertise then you probably can not afford to be in business.
Some of the key elements that you want to see your sales and marketing plan provides a profile of your customer's current type, which is the percentage of firms that carry, where they come from and how you are getting. If you are thinking of growing the business is no longer the same type of client or customer other than population, this must be defined, measured and made sure that a good deal for the target. Sales and marketing must always be seen as an investment and just like all other aspects of your business needs to bring a measure of return or need to go and try something different or adjust sales and marketing plan .
If you are looking for several sales and marketing tactics is simply no shortage of them. Here are some tips. Everyone needs proper consideration and research to make sure it is the right strategy for your business. These tactics include obvious things like business cards, letterheads and office stationery, email signature, coupons or flyers as well as things like your website, blog, monthly electronic newsletter, networking, taking someone to lunch a Once a week, social networking media like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Other strategies could include television advertising, seminars to educate customers about your service, fairs, hiring an expert in public relations, joining local associations, such as Chambers of Commerce or other local business or trade groups.
Just like your business plan, sales and marketing plan should be a living document and breathe. It should include projections and equally important, the results of all activities undertaken in order to constantly change and improve what you are doing. And do not forget your sales and marketing plan should include how each person in the field to answer the phone book-keeper. There's no reason your book-keeper and clerical staff can not answer the phone and offer a special monthly to see if they can bring new business. It 'sa bit unconventional, but sales and marketing is about getting results, if something is not conventional or unconventional.
Part 6 of this series of articles examines how the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing Plan are tied together with a communication plan....
