SEO - The complete picture

Being very active in the field of search engine optimization I often read some of the many SEO related articles circulating the cosmos network. It 'amazing how quickly you will notice that some optimizers like to fall in one field or another, when it comes to what works best to optimize a website.

For example, two articles I read in the past has offered different opinions on what is the driving force behind a web site optimization. One of the authors believed that content was king, while the other said that the link popularity is the way to go.

With this author I was amazed at his outrageous claim that the content no longer had a place in SEO. Just take a look at some top ranking sites to see that their content is keyword rich has played an important role in the search location.

Despite this link popularity still plays an important role in SEO. What some people do not realize is that it's not as easy as in the past. Google is now more rigorous in how they see the link. Its most recent action has been to penalize those sites that sell links. A link that now must be relevant and a reliable source. You do not need the link from a site of underwear to a double glazing company like Google will simply see that there is no relationship between the two. Google works very different themes and likes to focus on sites that show are authoritative in their arguments. Most of the links to your site should be somehow related to what you are marketing.

If you want to be serious about marketing your site, then you must be willing to put in the hours. Most of the methods used to optimize a website take their place. The key is to take advantage of all. If there is a suspicion that a certain method works then you should incorporate in the grand scheme of SEO campaign. That does not include the black hat methods. Steer well clear of these otherwise you risk sinking even before they learned to swim.
